The fan is driven by specially manufactured Ex motors. The single-phase motors have a sand-enclosed capacitor, which is approved by ATEX.

Motor protection via PTC thermistors, combined with a separately-connected motor protection device.
The Ex fans can be used for temperature classes from T1 toT4 classification in accordance with ATEX 94/9/EC.
Conveyance of potentially explosive gases in Zone 1 and Zone 2, as well as Groups IIA. IIB and IIC, is also possible.
